By the end of this guide, your brokerage will have a live kycert environment: an account and profile configured with your CNPJ, a KYC verification template ready to run automated bureau checks, your compliance team invited with the right roles, and a branded onboarding portal your customers can use to self-register. The entire setup takes less than 30 minutes.
1

Create your account and set up your brokerage profile

Go to admin.kycert.com.br and complete the registration form. You will be asked for:
  • CNPJ — your brokerage’s tax registration number
  • Legal name — the official registered name of your institution
  • Slug — a short, lowercase, URL-friendly identifier (e.g., minha-corretora)
Your slug is permanent and determines your two kycert URLs:
URLPurpose
admin.kycert.com.br/{slug}Your team’s compliance dashboard
cadastro.kycert.com.br/{slug}Your customers’ onboarding portal
Once your account is created, you land directly in the dashboard. Take a moment to complete your profile under Settings → Brokerage before moving on.
2

Configure your first KYC template

A KYC template defines exactly which bureau data sources run for each customer, in what order, and what happens when a problem is found.
  1. In the dashboard, go to Bureau → Templates → New Template.
  2. Give the template a descriptive name (e.g., “Standard PF Onboarding”).
  3. Add data sources to each execution phase:
PhaseRecommended sourcesBehavior on INVALID
CriticalCPF/Receita Federal, CNJ Warrants, PEP/COAFCustomer rejected immediately
ImportantTSE Donors, Trabalho EscravoCustomer placed in manual review
AdditionalICIJ Offshore Leaks, World Bank DebarredInformational only — never blocks
  1. For each source in the critical and important phases, set the blocking rule: choose block (automatic rejection) or manual_review (sends the case to your analyst queue) when the source returns INVALID.
  2. Click Publish. Published templates are immutable — kycert stores a snapshot of the template used in every run, preserving a complete audit trail.
You can create multiple templates — for example, a stricter template for high-value customers and a lighter one for low-risk profiles. Each bureau run references the specific template version used.
3

Invite your compliance team

Go to Settings → Users & Roles and click Invite User. Enter your colleague’s email address and assign one of the four roles:
RoleWhat they can do
adminFull access: customers, bureau, users, and all settings
complianceApprove, reject, or hold customers; view bureau results
comercialView only the customers assigned to them
viewerRead-only access across all areas — no changes
Your colleagues will receive an invitation email and can set their password directly from it. For your compliance officer responsible for BCB Circular 3.978/2020 obligations, assign the compliance or admin role.
4

Share the onboarding portal with customers

Your customer-facing portal is already live at cadastro.kycert.com.br/{slug}. Before sharing it, personalize the branding so it reflects your institution:
  1. Go to Settings → Branding.
  2. Upload your brokerage logo and set your primary brand color.
  3. Save — the portal updates immediately.
You can now share the link directly with customers via email, SMS, or embed it as a button on your website. Customers complete a guided registration wizard, upload their documents, and receive status updates automatically. New registrations appear in your dashboard under Customers and are queued for bureau processing.
Use the Sandbox environment to test KYC runs with test CPFs before going live. Generate a sk_test_... API key in Settings → API Keys and run simulated checks without consuming credits or touching real data. See Sandbox for the full list of test documents and their expected outcomes.
